Terrarium Night Out With Friends

We couldn’t remember the last time we had all been together… The busyness of everyday life had caught up with us and all of a sudden months had gone by. A girls' night out was long overdue. So, when we discovered that Blooming Artisan was offering a Terrarium-Making Workshop the same night we’d penciled in our get together we jumped at the chance to doing something different and create something together!

Blooming Artisan is a botanical craft business located in the heart of Little Rhody, offering a variety of custom DIT (do it together) flower parties focused on floral art and botanical crafts. These parties are similar in concept to “wine and paint night,” only better! Founder, Jennifer Guerin, has worked in the horticulture and landscape industry for nearly 25 years, and as a result, she is passionate about sharing her knowledge of horticulture with her guests. Not only will you walk away with a beautiful arrangement, but you’ll feel confident about caring for it (something super important to someone like me who can never seem to keep a plant alive).

Terrarium Night lasted a couple of hours and was the perfect way to kick-off our long-overdue girl’s night out. Jennifer had the cozy studio space set up beautifully with all of the equipment we’d need for terrarium making: a variety of rocks, soil, trowels, activated charcoal, loads of succulents to choose from, and an assortment of fun accent pieces for decorating our ecosystems after our trio of succulents had been planted. Jennifer encouraged us to bring our own wine and also had sparkling water and a delightful batch of popcorn available for munching in between creative instruction.

We each struggled to choose the succulents we wanted to feature in our terrariums - they were all so cute! We had a blast getting creative in the final stage - some of us building pathways and rock gardens, one of us even going as far to build a blue pond out of rocks, which earned accolades from her sweet 22-month-old Lil’ Lady, saying “momma, that’s beautiful.”

Blooming Artisan workshops are perfect for a girls' night out, a family fun night - or could even be customized entertainment for a bachelorette party, birthday party, or baby shower. Some of the workshops available include terrariums, herb planters, pumpkins with succulents and wreaths.
