We are so excited how successful + fun our NYC Launch Party at Projective Space was this past Friday night! We were lucky to hear from our amazing 3x3 speakers. The 3x3 panel is a panel of three local women of different backgrounds, industries, and career levels who share their story in three minutes.
We kicked off the NYC Launch with three driven, ambitious women who are doing amazing things in our community. Meet Tammy Tibbetts, Erin Bagwell, and Michela Aramini.
Get to know each inspiring lady:
Tammy Tibbetts passionately advocates the power of social media to create social change. She is the founder and president of She's the First, a not-for-profit that sponsors girls' education in the developing world. Tibbetts co-founded the benefit concert for She's the First, GIRLS WHO ROCK, which is held during Internet Week New York and has raised more than $20,000 in the past two years. This past June, @GirlsWhoRockNY was named the second most influential Twitter handle and selected in Time Out New York from more than 250 events during the festival. She's the First has been recognized at Glamour's Women of the Year Awards at Carnegie Hall and in the Huffington Post's "Greatest Person of the Day" series. Tibbetts was named a Social Change Ambassador for Levi's Shape What's to Come campaign in 2010 and is also a member of the Young Entrepreneur Council and New York Women in Communications. While scaling She's the First, Tibbetts freelances as a social media editor at a national teen magazine. She is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the College of New Jersey with a B.A. in journalism.
Erin Bagwell is an award winning videographer from Buffalo, New York. In the summer of 2013 she founded Feminist Wednesday, a feminist storytelling blog. In the summer of 2014 she launched a successful Kickstarter campaign, raising over $100,000 in funding to produce her first feature length film "Dream, Girl." She has been featured on The Huffington Post, ELLE, The Washington Post, Upworthy and FOX Business. When she isn’t on the Dream, Girl set or blogging she can be heard hosting the feminist podcast BeaverTalk out of her Brooklyn apartment.
