MEMBER SPOTLIGHT QUESTIONS
What's your background- career, where you grew up, school?I'm a native New Yorker, and I don't understand how anyone could live elsewhere. I stayed in the city to attend Barnard College, and I interned in fashion, editorial, and marketing throughout my time there. I’m a frequent tweeter and online shopper, and I can be found reading about fashion and social media pretty much 24/7. I’ve been working for FindSpark for over a year now, where I get to meet incredible young creatives, help them learn new skills for their careers, and connect them with some of the coolest companies in NYC. I do everything from social media to event planning, but my favorite part of my job is working with our community members. It’s so rewarding to watch them learn, grow, and land their dream jobs.
What's your biggest success so far? In the past year, I’ve had the opportunity to work on some exciting projects - like producing an entire fashion conference and running a campus ambassador program - and I’m pretty proud of all that I’ve learned and accomplished through those. My biggest success is seeing the success of the FindSpark community, and knowing I played a part in that.
I've seen people not only land incredible jobs but grow and develop in all areas of their professional lives in ways that will change their careers forever. I'm lucky to have been able to meet and work with so many people from diverse backgrounds through my work at FindSpark as well as my involvement with other groups like The Lady Project.
What's your favorite thing about being a Lady Project member?I absolutely love connecting with so many influential women and learning about what they do. Through my time at an all-girls high school, a women's college, in a sorority, and now at a female-led company, I've seen how important it is for women to support and empower each other. It’s wonderful to be part of an organization that sees the value of that and works so hard to bring us together. And I love that these ladies are everywhere - I'm almost guaranteed to bump into a fellow member at any event I attend.
