New England Autumns are renowned for their beauty, and Boston is no exception. The winding cobblestone streets, quaint cafés, and colorful foliage are the makings of a quintessential autumn adventure. Here are a few of our favorite activities to take advantage of fall in Boston:

1. Support Local Artists
Admittedly, there's only one more chance for you to attend a First Friday event during the fall season (here's looking at you, November 7th), but there's no better way to enjoy a crisp fall night than by packing up some hot apple cider in a thermos and appreciating local artists and their work. SoWa Artists Guild offers a free event the first Friday of each month that allows the public to view local artists' galleries and studios. The artists are in-house and eager to talk about their work. The MFA also hosts First Friday events that are open to visitors 21+.
2. Go Back to School
There's something in the fall air that makes us yearn for new school supplies and the excitement that accompanies a fresh school year. Even if you haven't had those same butterflies in years, indulge your academic cravings by attending a lecture at a local college (Boston's full of 'em). Harvard's Norton Mahindra Humanities Center has a fabulous lineup of events and lectures that are open to the public.
3. Try a New Work Out
Yes, fall is running season. The crisp air, colorful foliage, and sunny skies make it the perfect season to take your workout outdoors. But, if the thought of tying up your running shoes for another run around the block doesn't sound so appealing now, it definitely won't sound any more appealing in January. So, challenge yourself to try a fun group workout instead. Clubs like Equinox Boston offer tons of group classes like Barre, Pilates, and Martial Arts. Grab a friend and try something new!
