Mona Mina (born 1958) a long time leftist activist, has become the first woman to win the seat of secretary-general of the Doctors Syndicate. She is also the first person who is not a member of the Muslim Brotherhood to hold the office in decades.

She is one of the founding members of activist group Doctors Without Rights, and through the group has become known for her efforts campaigning for better wages and working conditions for doctors and for improved public healthcare.
